Events!
Events are something special that a moderator of the canon can set up to let you grow and develop your characters!
Events are always random. They will not be foreshadowed in any shape, way, or form, and often have a limit on how many people can join the thread, but, they will always be open.
What exactly is an event? Well it can be anything. It can be somepony looking for their lost cat who needs help, or a mugging on one of the back streets in Seaddle.
Events will -always- require rolls to accomplish, and if you succeed in whatever you are trying to do, you will get credited by gaining a -permanent- boost in skill points in whatever you did. For example, did you help find that lost cat? You might gain urban tracking. The fun thing, is, it's never predetermined what you get. Say that mugging happened, did you fight them off? You gained some combat. Or perhaps you stared them down and scared them off; that's an intimidation bonus. It's all up to -you- for what you want to happen. You don't even need to do the right thing to get a bonus. Maybe you watched the mugging happen and stole the purse off the mugger and kept the riches for yourself; that's a slight of hoof bonus. Whatever you do is up to you, but one thing's for sure, you have to be -in- the thread to reap the rewards!
